COBB TUNING SF INTAKE
This C.A.R.B. approved intake and integrated airbox looks great and has the combined benefits of a short ram intake and a cold air intake without any of the negatives. This system utilizes several unique features in an effort to maintain optimal flow for performance while minimizing turbulence that can cause engine management problems. From a custom conical cloth air-filter element, we use a CFD-designed velocity stack leading to an unique air flow straightener grid. This straightener grid is specifically designed to smooth the incoming air flow as it passes the Mass Air Flow sensor for precise readings. This eliminates the "dead spots" experienced by other aftermarket intakes due to turbulence.
No other aftermarket Subaru intake system utilizes these critical design elements. In order to provide a system that looks as good on the outside as the technical advancements happening on the inside, we utilize a one piece design constructed from a high temperature plastic composite. Not only does this save weight compared to the previous metal design, the plastic composite material offers much better heat rejection properties that help keep intake air temperatures cooler. In contrast, intake systems constructed using metal castings or piping can actually retain underhood heat and in turn heat the incoming air.
The SF Air Box adds the benefits of a cold air intake to the outstanding performance of the SF Intake. The factory inlet directs cold air from the front grill to the SF Air, which encloses the SF intake. Hot engine bay air that robs horsepower is prevented from entering the intake system. This unique design also separates rainwater from the intake air, eliminating the water ingestion issues that plague in-fender cold air intakes. Calibrations All aftermarket intakes for 08+ Subarus require tuning in order to ensure the MAF sensor reads properly and the engine operates within safe parameters. Specifically designed to fill the sound gap between the Q300 and N1 system, the R400 produces a unique, agressive note while minimising harsh cabin noise (particularly at highway speeds). The R400 muffler was designed using years of experience from Invidia's engineers to allow the perfect balance between unrestricted exhaust gas flow and sound dampening. This exhaust system will provides a pronounced exhaust note throughout the entire RPM band even when only installed as a cat-back system. The R400 muffler design also looks great with a race inspired design that will turn heads.

From start to finish the Invidia Exhaust Systems are designed with performance in mind with the exhaust route carefully selected to ensure minimal bends, allowing for an unobstructed exit of exhaust gases with minimal restrictions and turbulence. This will allow for improvements in both horsepower and torque, along with improvements in throttle response with a reduction in turbo lag for turbocharged vehicles. Additionally, you get the reward of an aggressive exhaust note.
INVIDIA CATTED DOWN PIPE
The most restrictive component of the factory exhaust system is the down-pipe which begins right after the turbocharger. Invidia Exhausts use a open bellmouth design to completely open up the exhaust flow path out of the turbocharger. This open bellmouth design combined with a larger pipe diameter and smooth bends allows the turbocharger to exhale exhaust gases with fewer restrictions and turbulence. Because of these reasons, Invidia down-pipes make for the most popular exhaust upgrade that adds a substantial bump in both horsepower and torque with a great reduction in turbo lag.
The bellmouth is made from cast 304 Stainless Steel to withstand the high temperatures seen at the turbocharger, with a laser cut cast steel flange to ensure long lasting leak free reliability. A High-Flow catalytic converted is utilised to control emissions for street driving legalities but with minimal impact to exhaust flow. Designed locally to suit Australian Specification Vehicles, this is a 100% bolt on installation for right-hand drive vehicles with no modifications or changes to the steering knuckle required. Factory O2 sensor locations are also retained to ensure compatibility with factory systems.
